KUBU CREATIONS LLC

I am a sculptural glass artist working primarily in borosilicate, with a focus on silver and gold fume as a means of exploring light, matter, and perception. Since 2012, my work has investigated how vaporized precious metals interact with glass at the molecular level, producing emergent color systems that cannot be fully predicted or replicated.

My ongoing series, The Intergalactic Family, treats each sculpture as a distinct entity—formed through controlled atmospheric conditions, selective fuming, and deep encasement over galaxy-black backing. This process amplifies the chromatic depth of the fume while preserving its volatility, resulting in surfaces that appear astronomical, cellular, and otherworldly. No two works resolve the same way; each piece becomes a record of heat, chemistry, and time.

Conceptually, the work exists at the intersection of science fiction and material science. The forms suggest speculative life, future ancestry, and non-human intelligence—not as narrative illustration, but as a visual language born from physical process. Recent works selectively incorporate alien figures and advanced color systems, including Molten Aura glass, expanding the series into new material territories while maintaining continuity with earlier members.

I approach glass as both a scientific medium and a living system. Precision and restraint are essential: color is not painted on but coaxed into existence through flame chemistry, oxygen balance, and thermal memory. This methodology reflects a broader interest in authorship, uniqueness, and permanence—ideas I extend through NFT-based provenance that links each physical object to an immutable digital record.

Ultimately, my work is about emergence: how complexity arises from controlled conditions, and how beauty can exist at the boundary between intention and uncertainty.
